LIFE IN THE CAMPUS
At UNIP’s Campi
UNIP campuses are located throughout Brazil. The graduate students will attend classes in some of the campuses located in the city of Sao Paulo and develop the experimental part of their projects. Students from all over Brazil and Latin American countries meet and exchange experiences in their free time or in the restaurants and cafeterias of the campuses. People with the most diverse professional backgrounds in human and veterinary health exchange experiences during the course, stimulating multidisciplinary debates that contribute to their professional and academic growth.
In order to access the campuses, you will need the UNIP Student ID Card.
You will have access to the Library, student computer room, research labs, and teachers' room on campus. The teachers will always be available both physically and remotely.
In the vicinity of the campuses, you find restaurants, snack bars, and bars from those classified as five-star to those where you can enjoy a happy hour with your folks, in opportunities for “all pockets”. In addition to great restaurants, a massive network of cinemas and theaters showing blockbusters and worldwide releases can be accessed after a day of experiments.
All campuses are contemplated with the public transportation system with routes designed to operate in points located in the main building block.
Student Life
GP-EEP students move from their homes or work environment to UNIP laboratories, classes, or experiments. Around the campuses, there are public, private parking lots and excellent access to public transport. It is not uncommon to change campuses, so be prepared to know some corners of the city of Sao Paulo!
Living in Sao Paulo
Sao Paulo is the central city of one of the largest metropolises in the world. It is the largest city in the Southern Hemisphere and the eighth in the world in terms of population. In economic terms, it is the third largest GDP in Brazil and loses only to the state of Sao Paulo and the country itself. It is a city that vibrates 24 hours a day, every day. To study, the various campuses of UNIP take you to know the four corners of the city, which in itself is already a tourist adventure to know its different neighborhoods.
Sao Paulo offers several opportunities for Leisure, Gastronomy, Culture, Education, and, when necessary, for Health.
Sao Paulo has several municipal parks full of families, athletes, and pets on weekends and holidays. The most famous of the city is the Parque do Ibirapuera. However, others also stand out, such as the Aclima?ao Park, Carmo Park, ?gua Branca Park, Trianon Park, Sao Paulo Botanical Garden, Horto Florestal, as well as state parks, such as Villa Lobos State Park and Cantareira State Park, among many others.
Sao Paulo is one of the main gastronomic centers of the Southern Hemisphere. In its bars and restaurants, from the simplest to the most sophisticated, the world cuisine is contemplated, in an authentic tour among the five continents, of Italy, Portugal, Germany, France, China, Japan, India, United States, Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, Peru, Egypt, Morocco. The national cuisine is also revealed in restaurants representing gastronomy from the Northeast, North, South, Central-West, and the neighboring states of Minas Gerais, Paran?, and Rio de Janeiro.
If the idea is to take a cultural tour, the theaters, cinemas, the Pinacoteca, the Municipal Libraries, the Centro Cultural can be part of your itinerary. You find fun in a movie theater throughout the city, from blockbusters to the alternative movies you see exclusively at the Sao Paulo Film Festival. The Sala Sao Paulo is home to the Sao Paulo State Symphony Orchestra, a classical building whose architecture dates back to the Coffee Cycle period and the Theatro Municipal de Sao Paulo, where excellent music of all time can be appreciated.
Sao Paulo is the city that holds the best hospital network in the South Hemisphere that encompasses those that are more accessible, and those that serve the Unified Health System, to those private and fancy hospitals with international certificates.
If the intention is to shop, the various Malls and Rua 25 de Mar?o may be your choice! Stores specialized in electronics, tools, artistic materials, laboratory materials, raw materials for cosmetics, grains, spices, among many others, are easily found in the most central neighborhoods of the city.
Commuting around the city is easy, and there are many buses, metro, and train options, plus a vast network of parking lots in case the commute is by car. Taxi services and apps are also available.
Where to stay
Sao Paulo offers a vast possibility of housing for students who do not reside in the city and choose to live near the University. Prices vary significantly by region, rental services, hotels, AirBnB, and guesthouses and can be accessed on specialized websites.
Testimonials
“Moving to Sao Paulo to dedicate to the doctorate was a decision that made much sense. The city itself offers many options (cultural, professional, with regards to meeting people). It includes the specific learning that I seek and carry with me, related to learning from the common coexistence and respect to my friends, among other important things. During this period that I am here, everything I live made much sense, including learning to get around the city and the people I met. I have the opportunity to know the places I visited - and many yet go, the diversity and particularities that only living in a huge city like Sao Paulo offers". Amanda Leal da Silva, Ph.D. student.
