Internacionalização

Programa de Pós-Graduação Stricto Sensu em Odontologia

The PPGO has evolved significantly in its internationalization and continues to work to grow in the various forms of internationalization: multilateral research, dissemination of intellectual production, faculty and student mobility. “Internationalization at home” measures are the responsibility of the Academic Internationalization Office, but the PPGO is internationalizing through: multilateral research, dissemination of intellectual production, a page on UNIP's website in English and Spanish, the reception of foreign professors, the participation of foreign professors on defense boards, the reception of international students with subjects in English, the recruitment of students from Latin America and faculty and student mobility.

Research Grant PNGP - New Generation of Researchers Program / PI - Initial Project
Title: Biocompatibility of new polymerization co-initiators and evaluation of their influence on chemical, physical and biological properties of experimental resins
Process: 2022/02823-3
Duration: 01/02/2023 to 31/01/2026
Amount: R$228,997.95/US$83,614.10
Principal investigator: Adriano Fonseca de Lima
Teaching staff: Denise Carleto Andia (DO) and Jacques Lalevée (PI)

This project, approved under the PNGP/PI Research Grant from FAPESP, is part of an international collaboration with Prof. Jacques Lalevée, one of the world's leading experts in polymerization, linked to the Mulhouse Institute of Materials Science at the Université de Haute-Alsace (France).

This partnership has already resulted in important scientific contributions, including the publication of the article “Novel co-initiators of polymerization: Cytotoxicity profile and modulation of inflammatory mediators in human dental pulp stem cells”, in the prestigious journal Dental Materials. Also noteworthy is the PhD thesis study by Marcos Vinícius de Oliveira Salvador, under the supervision of Prof. Adriano Lima, which was defended at the end of 2024. The article derived from this research is currently being evaluated in the journal Macromolecular Rapid Communications, further consolidating the relevance and scientific impact of the project.

2 - Internationally circulated publications by Program students/graduates in the four-year period

The PPGO's intellectual output is concentrated in qualified journals with international circulation and has shown significant growth in the quality and impact of its scientific output. The Field-Weighted Citation Impact (FWCI), a metric that assesses the impact of citations of articles, researchers, research groups or institutions compared to the global average for the area of knowledge, grew from 1.21 in the previous four-year period to 1.33 in the 2021-2024 period. This index indicates that PPGO-UNIP publications received 33% more citations than the global average for the area, showing not only the quantity, but also the relevance and scientific influence of the Program's academic output.

Student inclusion in qualified production has grown substantially, with participation percentages of 60% in stratum A1; 55% in A2; 60% in A3; 50% in A4. The products with the greatest impact are among the four main productions already mentioned by the professors in item 2.4.1.
