Syllabus
Molecule of DNA and mRNA: structure, organization and functions. Epigenetic: DNA methylation / hydroxymethylation, histones and chromatin structure changes: basic concepts. Epigenetic regulation: enzymes involved in the processes of DNA methylation / hydroxymethylation. Extraction of DNA and RNA: Methods of extraction of nucleic acids. Analyses of global DNA (hydroxy)methylation, in specific genes and of enzyme activity of epigenetic machinery. Quantitative PCR for DNA methylation and hydroxymethylation.
